:: SPORTS MASSAGE ::
People suffer from a common range of conditions associated with playing sports, strength or endurance training, and other activities that require extreme physical exertion. Using a combination of deep tissue techniques, combined with short strokes, friction, and passive stretching, to reduce the pain and tension, sports massage can be considered an integral part of any training regimen. When used as a pre-event warm-up, sports massage can increase circulation and flexibility and reduce any pre-competition muscle or mental tension. When used a post-event treatment, sports massage assists in every part of the recovery phase.
This technique is used to stretch the muscles and connective tissues of the body to enhance performance. Sports massage stimulates circulation, increases lymph flow, breaks up fibrosis that binds muscle fibres together, relaxes muscle spasm and relieves pain.
Injuries will occur less frequently, flexibility will be increased, training will have improved performance, body awareness will be enhanced and a state of mental and physical relaxation will be achieved.
